"John Brown"
by Piney Woods |
|
Scenario
John Brown was an ardent abolitionist who tried to start a slave rebellion by capturing the federal armory at Harper's Ferry, intending to arm slaves with the weapons stored there. Quite a ruckus, but it didn't work. He was captured, tried for treason, and hanged. His actions were one of the causes of the American Civil War. "John Brown's Body" is the original title of the song "Battle Hymn of The Republic"
