"The Incident"
A Christmas Story - Stage 3 by Wild Bill Blackerby |
|
Scenario
As he arrives, he hears him in the barn in another battle with his greatest nemesis - the furnace. Loud banging noises and swearing come thru the door way - the Old Man worked in profanity the way an artist worked in oils. Ralphie hands the lamp to his mother out front and she "accidentally" drops it on the rock shattering it. The crash is somehow heard by the Old Man over the din and he rushes out to find his Major Award in pieces. Quivering with fury he points at his broken dream and yells the only thing that comes to mind. He then grabs his rifle and blasts away at the trees in anger. Ammo
